Our Commitment
WoodRooted is committed to making woodrooted.com usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We want anyone to be able to browse our pieces, read our policies, and complete a purchase without obstacles.
Standard We Aim For
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor and cognitive impairments.
What We Do
- Provide alternative text for product and content images
- Maintain readable colour contrast between text and background
- Support keyboard navigation through menus, product pages and checkout
- Use clear headings and consistent page structure so screen readers can navigate logically
- Label form fields, including at checkout, so assistive technology can identify them
- Keep text resizable without loss of content or function
Ongoing Work
Accessibility is not a one-time project. We review our site as we add pages and products, and we address issues as we find them or as they are reported to us.
We are honest about the limits: parts of our site rely on third-party software, including our e-commerce platform, apps and payment providers. We do not control the code of those services, and their accessibility may vary. Where a third-party component creates a barrier, we will look for an alternative or provide another way to complete the task.
Known Limitations
Some older content, third-party embedded content, and certain interactive elements may not yet fully meet Level AA. If you encounter one, please tell us — reports from real users are the fastest way for us to find and fix problems.
